How long have you been a member of SESWA (years)?
I have been a member for 17 years.

Have you served SESWA in the past? If so, how?
I have served on the SESWA Board for most years since 2010. I also served on the Executive Committee for four years and had the privilege to serve as President in 2014-2015, which was our 10th year anniversary. I have also served as Chair of the Communications Committee and have served on the Stormwater Policy Committee most of the time I have been a member.

What abilities and attributes can you bring to the Board?
A deep understanding of how SESWA works organizationally to serve its members, along with a good understanding of the needs of both public and private sector members. I have also worked through multiple SESWA strategic plans and feel well positioned to continue assisting in the leadership of the organization.

What background and experience do you have in the stormwater industry?
I have worked in Stormwater Management in various capacities over the last 32 years where I have managed MS4 permits, stormwater policy and program development, and stormwater utility management in the public sector. Since moving to the private sector I have continued several aspects of this work, including project management of MS4 permits, watershed planning, stormwater design and construction, and storm sewer asset management projects. I’ve also provided Stormwater Utility expert witness support in defending against private storm sewer infrastructure failure claims.

Why do you want to serve on the Board of Directors?
I have been committed to SESWA for many years and see how incredibly valuable membership has been to me, both personally, and to the employers I have served over that period. SESWA is well positioned financially and organizationally to continue its growth and build on the successes of the past, and I would love to continue being involved in that work. There is no other organization that serves Stormwater Professionals in our region like SESWA and I am honored to have been a part of the development and growth of the association.
